High-Tech Dentistry
High Tech Dentistry Dentistry has always had a lot of innovation and development over the last 100 years. At Dental Care West we are constantly following the latest research, techniques and equipment so that we can offer our patients the very best care. A lot has changed since 1965 when we started looking after our community, and we expect a lot to keep changing over the next 50 years.
Digital x-rays This allows us to take clearer x-rays and use much less radiation that the older x-ray techniques. Its also faster so we can help diagnose your needs quickly.
3D digital tooth scanning We have used 3D scanners for over 10 years at Dental Care West. We use these to capture the shape of teeth and jaws so that we can minimise the need for impressions that often make people gag.
3D CT scans We routinely use 3D x-rays (commonly known as a CT scan) to help diagnose:
- Impacted wisdom teeth
- Options for dental implants
- Orthodontic treatment plans
- Difficult root canals
Being able to see the teeth and jaw in 3D has significantly changed how accurately we can care for our patients.
Lasers We love using our lasers. We use them to help remove gum disease, to reshape gums for cosmetic reasons, and to remove lumps and bumps that could be dangerous. Lasers let the body heal very, very quickly with much less pain compared to traditional surgical methods.
CEREC single-visit crowns For 10 years we have invest over $1 million dollars to offer our patients single visit crowns. This means we can complete the entire process in one visit without the need for troublesome temporary crowns and additional injections. Within 90 minutes your tooth can be restored using advanced ceramics that look and feel like a natural tooth. It can even be more cost effective that traditional crowns. Ask us today whether your would benefit from this technique.
